Monthly meetings for jazz enthusiasts

If you’re interested in jazz and would like to enjoy listening to internationally acclaimed artists, then this is the Group for you.

The group hold eight or nine live concerts each year on Sunday evenings. In small groups or big bands, these feature the best of British jazz musicians, and also American stars like Scott Hamilton and Darius Brubeck. Recent performers have included the Bateman Brothers, Alan Barnes, Alec Dankworth, the Dime Notes, Elaine Delmar, and the Humphrey Lyttelton Tribute Band. They aim for a balance of styles from Trad to Dixieland, Stride to Swing, Mainstream to Modern, often with a vocalist.

Live Jazz Sunday concerts in the Ballroom start at 7.00pm and finish by 9.30pm. Sandwiches and drinks can be ordered for the interval. These are informal events with the audience seated at tables, café-style. All Members of the Club are eligible to attend. Booking opens four weeks before each event.
