The Artists Group

Drawing and painting for all levels of artistic ability

The Artists Group is for members with some experience of painting and drawing. The Group meets on Wednesday mornings and consists of people of all levels of artistic ability who enjoy drawing and painting. There is also a strong social element to the Wednesday Group meetings.

Members supply their own materials and work on projects of their own choice using watercolour, acrylic, pastel and pencil. Advice and help is always available from other members of the Group.

Four or five times a year a local ‘Challenge’ is set. All members are invited to work on the same theme and their work is displayed in a ‘mini exhibition’. At this time members, if they wish, are invited to talk about their work. These sessions prove to be very beneficial for all concerned and good fun too.

During the year, professional tutors are invited to hold workshops. Also, from time to time members are invited to produce work for other interest groups within the Club, for example, Classic Motoring and the production of the Club Christmas cards.
